Gin Lin Mining Trail & Historic McKee Bridge
This short (¾ mile) interpretive trail takes you through an historic mining site named after Chinese mining boss Gin Lin. 13 interpretive markers tell the story of the Palmer Creek Diggings area. Learn the fascinating history of how Gin Lin made his fortune, depositing over one million U.S. dollars of gold dust in a Jacksonville bank.
Tour departs from historic Jacksonville and travels towards Applegate Lake. Snow capped peaks are visible in the distance and offers great views of the Applegate River.
We then travel back towards Jacksonville but not before a stop at the Historic McKee Covered Bridge built in 1917.
